Position Summary: As a Technical Artist, you will bridge the gap between artists and programmers, ensuring the seamless integration of artistic assets into the game engine. This role demands a deep understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of game development, focusing on optimizing assets and enhancing visual quality while maintaining performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Tool Development: Create and maintain tools to improve the efficiency of the art team.
Optimization: Ensure that art assets are optimized for performance without sacrificing visual quality.
Shader Development: Develop and refine shaders to achieve the desired visual effects within the game engine.
Collaboration: Work closely with artists and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art production.
Pipeline Management: Streamline the content creation pipeline to ensure smooth integration of assets into the game.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.
4-6 years of experience in a technical art role within the gaming industry.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL) and experience with game engines like Unreal Engine.
Strong understanding of 3D modeling, texturing, and animation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for creating visually stunning games.
Compensation:
Salary: $85,000 to $115,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
