Key Responsibilities
Catalog, organize, and meticulously maintain both physical and digital collections, ensuring the careful handling of artifacts, antiques, art pieces, and digital media.
Implement effective preservation techniques to safeguard the quality and longevity of sensitive materials and items.
Employ digital archiving systems for the cataloging, storage, and management of digital assets, ensuring secure and efficient retrieval.
Create and uphold accurate records and metadata for each collection item to facilitate research and access.
Occasionally assess and oversee the condition and storage of physical collections on-site, updating inventories and ensuring safe storage practices.
Adhere to compliance with legal, regulatory, and archival standards and practices.
Assist research efforts by providing organized access to the collections and curating items for exhibitions or presentations as needed.
Required Skills
Proficiency in digital archiving software and tools, coupled with strong computer and data management capabilities.
Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with preservation best practices, conservation techniques, and metadata standards.
Ability to work autonomously while effectively managing time and solving problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Archival Studies, Library Science, History, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in archival or collections management, ideally focused on antiques, art, or digital assets.
